Thomas Kemper definitely gets off to an excellent start. Their claim to be sweetened with honey and cane sugar can be verified on the ingredients, with honey featuring surprisingly high on the list. When poured into a glass, it achieves a remarkable head. However, upon tasting the brew, one notices a discouraging lack of bite. While the taste of honey is quite prominent, there is no fizz, no strong flavours, and no sharpness. We imagine that if there was a root-beer-fruit that could be squeezed, Thomas Kemper root beer would likely be the result. This root beer would make an excellent breakfast juice root beer, but does not pack enough of a punch for consumption past 11:00.
